The Housing Rehabilitation Program is revitalizing the Bellport and East Patchogue area, enhancing residents' quality of life with secure, affordable homes. To date, the Alliance has acquired 69 homes and sold 27 of them at a 10% discount to current tenants, ensuring affordable, well-managed housing with reasonable rents. Since 1982, our certified housing counselors have been guiding families to housing stability through expert advice on budgeting, mortgage negotiations, and long-term financial planning. Our Housing Counseling program helps families avoid evictions, improve budgeting skills, and connects them to essential programs, like Section 8, for continued support. We work closely with partner agencies to provide pre-purchase counseling and empower future homeowners..
Our Utilities Assistance Program offers vital relief to families facing winter hardships. Through Project Warmth, we prevent utility shut-offs for qualified families during the colder months. This emergency assistance fund, when available, provides a safety net to keep homes warm and families secure through the toughest times.
Our BHEP Senior Group is a cornerstone for community connection, offering North Bellport retirees a space for fellowship and fun every Thursday from 12 pm to 4 pm. Established in 1995, this weekly potluck lunch provides a warm, welcoming environment for seniors to connect, share stories, and enjoy activities.
Since 1997, our Quality of Life Programs have brought community and law enforcement together to address local concerns. Originally a Weed and Seed initiative, this monthly meeting connects residents, police, religious groups, and officials to discuss pressing issues and build a safer community. Despite funding cuts, the Alliance proudly continues this essential work, making our community safer and more united.
Our Alliance provides a one-stop resource for public assistance, connecting residents with the Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Social Services (DSS), and Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) every other Tuesday. These sessions offer guidance in employment, social services, and more. Join us on alternate Tuesdays for assistance that moves our community forward.

We aim to empower young girls by providing them with the necessary tools to attain emotional stability and self-confidence, thereby fostering a generation of strong, independent, and knowledgeable women. It is our goal to ensure that every girl enrolled in the program has a fair chance to broaden her horizons while eliminating obstacles such as mobility, cultural differences, and finances. Ages 5-17
Our Fatherhood Initiative strengthens fathers' abilities to nurture meaningful relationships with their children and partners. Through skill-building and support, we help fathers recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and become more confident, connected, and caring parents.
In underserved communities, as characterized by graduation rate, poverty rate, and crime rate, our Community-Based Initiative Worker proactively connects residents with job readiness training, employment assistance, and vital resources. Our First-Time Home Buyers Seminar is a free workshop series designed to demystify the home-buying process. We guide participants through mortgage qualification, financial planning, and home ownership steps, offering certificates that provide up to $50,000 in county down payment assistance.
